1. Check Optical Clarity & Transparency

A premium PPF should be crystal clear, not hazy or dull.

Test:
Hold the film against light or your car surface.

Good PPF = clear, invisible finish

Poor PPF = blurry or cloudy look

2. Test Self-Healing Capability

One key feature of high-end paint protection film is self-healing technology.

Test:

Lightly scratch the film

Apply heat (sunlight or warm water)

 If scratches disappear, it’s high-quality PPF

3. Evaluate Thickness & Flexibility

PPF thickness is measured in microns.

Ideal range: 150–200 microns

Too thin = weak protection

Too thick = poor flexibility

Test:
Bend the film slightly:

Good PPF = flexible, no cracking

Low quality = stiff or brittle

4. Check Adhesive Strength

Poor adhesive leads to bubbles and peeling.

Test:

Apply a small piece on glass or panel

Remove it

Good PPF leaves no residue and sticks evenly

5. UV & Yellowing Resistance

Malaysia’s hot climate demands strong UV protection film.

Test:
Ask for UV certification or test reports
